February Favorites 2012

Hi Lovelies~ It's that time again for the monthly favorites :D. Don't forget to link your favorites post in the comment section, I'd love to see what you liked!
1. O HUI Powder Sunblock EX+ in Beige (SPF 50+PA+++)
This powder is gorgeous. I got this as a gift from my mom (thanks mom!) and I was really excited about it, because I knew that it was one of the cult favorites in Korea. It's a medium to full coverage powder that has sunblock properties, so it will not only make you look flawless, but protect your skin as well. Whenever I apply this powder, it feels like I've been photoshopped or something lol - it's that good. However, I do not like the sponge applicator that it comes with. It grabs way too much product so I end up using a small contour brush instead.
2. Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Copper Sand
Copper Sand is a great all over the lid color when you don't want much going on your face. It looks super natural and blends easily.
3. Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Rose
This is the perfect rosy blush for me. It gives a really natural flush/sheen to the face and it's easy to blend. The packaging is kind of bulky, but it's a great product nonetheless.
4. Josie Maran Argan Mini Color Stick in Petal Pink
This is another rosy blush I've been using all month. It doesn't have shimmers in it or anything, but it gives this beautiful, healthy glow to the face and it's quite lovely. Also, all of the JM product contain argan oil, so I guess it makes a nice treat to your skin as well. I have no idea why the Happy Booster  blush and this blush stick shows up differently on the camera (swatches below), but they look kind of identical on the cheeks.
5. Benefit Coralista
Coralista is a beautiful coral/peach blush and I've been using it non stop since I got it. It looks very natural and smells yummy.
6. Anna Sui Lip Rouge V in #660
I guess I've been really loved this month, because this is another gift that I received! One of my dear friends was so sweet and she bought this lipstick for me at the duty free shop while she was traveling. The color is excellent for the spring season and the texture is sooooo smooth. Also, it has that signiture rosy scent that all Anna Sui lipsticks have and the packaging is gorgeous.
Swatches
L-R : Anna Sui Lip Rouge V #660, BB Copper Sand, PF Happy Booster in Rose, JM Petal Pink, Benefit Coralista
And last but not the least,
7. Lush Buffy Body Butter
I seriously can't get enough of this body butter! It smells amazing and it made my skin super smooth.

That's it! Hope you enjoyed reading and talk to you soon xx.

Review/Swatch : Bobbi Brown Warm Party Eye Palette (Holiday 2011)

Hi Girls ^^
Today I have a review of the Bobbi Brown Warm Party Eye Palette for you. This palette is a part of BB's 2011 Holiday Collection and I believe it's limited edition. There is also a 'cool' palette available, but I didn't get it since cool colors tend to look funny on me. These palettes are $45 each and comes with 6 eye shadows.
Now first things first, the packaging - it's clean and simple, classic Bobbi Brown. I love how it's super slim - it makes it so much easier for traveling and storing!

Here is a size comparison with other products. As you can see it's not that big at all!
Now on to the shadows!
Most of the shadows are very subtle and those colors only create a sheer wash of color.
The six shades are :
Top Row L-R
- Bone Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow : Off-white with pearl finish. This one is very creamy and easy to blend.
- Champagne Quarts Metallic Eye Shadow : Frosty champagne.
- Pebble Metallic Eye Shadow : Slated Gray - Almost like a luster finish.
Bottom Row L-R
- Pink Blaze Sparkle Eye Shadow : A rosey champagne with glitter - this one looks too 'red' on me.
- Copper Sand Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow : Light golden brown with pearl finish. It's a lovely all over the lid kinda color. Very light tho.
- Black Chocolate Eye Shadow : Matte dark brown. Very pigmented and easy to blend. definitely a star from the palette. LOVE!

Swatches
Overall, I like the palette, but I don't think it's a 'must have'. While I love the packaging, I'm not a big fan of the color selection. Yes, they create a very elegant look and the formulas are great. But I wish they had more 'mid tone colors' instead of having 5 light/subtle colors and one very dark color. Though, I imagine people who like to wear minimal makeup loving this palette a lot. In my case, I end up grabbing other eyeshadows to complete the eye look.
Have you tried this palette? What's your favorite BB eye shadow?

Swatch/First Impression : Wet 'n' Wild I ♥ Matte Palette

Wet 'n' Wild's 8 pan 'I Love Matte' Palette is very impressive for it's $4.99 price tag. All colors are super pigmented and true to color. I love how you can create not only a bright eye, but a neutral eye and a sexy smoky eye. The textures are smooth and easy to blend. At first, I imagined this palette having a lot of fallout, but it surprisingly doesn't (which is great for a drugstore palette!). From the whole palette, my favorite colors are the chiffon green and the dark brown.
FYI All of the shades are matte except for the blue one - It has a slight sheen to it.
Have you tried this palette? What did you think?

August Favorites

Hey Ladies, summer has flown by and it's that time again for the monthly favorites (well, I guess it's late, but yeah haha ^^;). These are the products I've been reaching for constantly - Hope you enjoy!
1. Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel : I've been using this as a moisturizer a lot this month. I love this because it's natural and super easy to use - just slap it on the face and go. The tub is huge and it's only $3!! However, I wouldn't recommend it to people who have very dry skin, because it's not a heavy cream at all. You can find something similar at Whole Foods or Target if you are living in The States.
2. Too Faced Primers (Shadow Insurance & Primed and Poreless) : I don't know why I have so many samples of these primers, but will definitely buy a full size product when I get to use them up. The shadow insurance prevents eye shadows from creasing and Primed and Poreless makes it easy to apply foundation. It also does a good job on filling in the pores, so you look flawless.
I am into bronzers in general lately, because I'm slowly losing my tan :(. Let me know if you have a favorite bronzer -
3. The Body Shop Bronzing Powder 01 : If you have light skin tone like me, you will love this bronzer! It's one of those few bronzers that doesn't make you look muddy at all. The staying power is not that great, but gotta love it 'cause it's matte and the packaging is cute :).
4. MAC Mineralize Blush in Happy Together (LE, In the Groove '10) : This is one of the blushes that I had completely forgot that I owned and have fallen back in love within this month. The blush side is a burnt orange kind of color and the highlighter is a gorgeous champagne.
5. MAC e/s in Woodwinked : I thought I couldn't wear this color for the longest time, because it came out too orange on me. But now, I have to say that I kind of can't live without it. Love how it's really pigmented and gives a golden sheen too the eyes.
6. ELF Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Baby Lips : Such a great baby-pink gloss. Super moisturizing (almost better than a lip balm) and lasts for a long time. I purchased the Clarins Lip Perfecter that is quite similar to this one, but happen to like this better. Seriously, why pay for over $20 when this gets the job done for only $1?

.. Swatches ..

7. Pa 09 Lashes : These lashes look flirty and fun, but keeps it natural. I have an EOTD post wearing them here.
8. Chloe Chloe Rollerball : Absolutely lovely perfume. It has a fresh and powdery scent that makes me feel really girly, but kind of annoys me at the same time because every single girl in her 20's is wearing this.
9. My Marc by Marc Jacobs Sun Glasses : I'm not going to lie, I've been really lazy and wearing my yoga pants and these sunnies all over the place during this month, because they go well with each other lol. I am such a lazy person, I know.

What were your August Favorites?

Swatch : MAC Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Tea Ceremony & Blossom Culture (Seasonally Supreme Collection '11)

Hey Ladies ♥
I just found out that MAC came up with a new collection called Seasonally Supreme. Basically the idea is to add more shades to the permanent line of the Supreme Sheen Lipsticks. I honestly wanted all of them, but I was really good and only picked up 2. The packaging is super sleek and a bit heavier than the regular lipsticks. The formula is pretty awesome - they're like a lipstick and a lipgloss all in one! - not super pigmented, but definitely adds color to the lips with a gloss-like finish. Also, they are very moisturizing. Sorry that the swatches are a bit blurry :( the weather wasn't helping at all today.
MAC Tea Ceremony : Darkened peach brown with cream finish
MAC Blossom Culture : Soft pink with micro glitters, frost finish
Here are the swatches on the lips
From the two, I have to say that Tea Ceremony has to be my favorite. I think the color is really unique and pretty. It's also the most pigmented one from the whole collection. Did you get anything from this collection? If so, what did you think?? Do you want all 12 lipsticks like I do? :P

FOTD ft. MUFE Aqua Cream in Shade 14

Hey Ladies :)
I can't believe that The SF Marathon is right around the corner! 2 months ago, I signed up for the second half thinking that I would be totally ready, but now I realize how stupid I was... Anyway, it's no use crying over spilled milk, right? I'm just going to do my best (and hopefully finish lol) and try to look good as possible - trust me, after 13 miles of running it's really hard to look good. That being said, these days it's all about water proof makeup. I'm testing out a few and yesterday I finally got my hands on this baby - MUFE Aqua Cream in shade 14!
Here's a swatchy swatch for you. Shade 14 is a gorgeous deep brown with purple undertones. It applies very smoothly and doesn't move at all after it dries.
I basically applied the cream shadow all over the lid. Really simple and easy. Please ignore my hair, I have no idea why it's acting like that lately :'(.

Products I used :
Face
HanSkin Premium Magic BB Cream, DiorSkin Forever Compact in 020, MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW20
Cheeks
Banila Co. Cream Blush in Jaipur
Eyes
MAC e/s in Brule, MUFE Aqua Cream in #14, MAC Mineralize Shadow in Natural Flare (only the bright gold), MUFE Aqua Liner in #12, L'oreal Million Lashes Mascara
Brows
Benefit Instant Brow Pencil
Lips
Chanel Rouge Coco Chine in #48 Evasion

I still have to test out the shadow (aka wear and run),
but overall I think I'm pretty happy with it so far.
What do you think?

Hope you are having a great week,
please let me know if there are any good water proof makeup ;)

FOTD ft. Illamasqua Hussy

Hey Everyone!
A lot of people wanted to see how the Illamasqua blush in Hussy looked like,
so I thought I would do a Face Of The Day with it. Hope you enjoy!
Oh, and I also did a close-up for the eyes,
because I know that it's really hard to see the makeup - due to my small/hooded eyes.
Close up / Break down for the Eyes

Hussy is a gorgeous matte, bright, pink-coral blush. It is intensely pigmented so you need to apply it with a light hand. I think this will suit a lot of skin tones (I'm NW20-25), since it's not too warm or not too cool. The lasting power is great and doesn't accentuate fine lines or pores. $24 at Sephora.
Products I'm wearing :
Face
Giorgio Armani Face Fabric 02
MUFE HD Powder
Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer (Under eye)
MAC Studio Finish Concealer NW20 (on face)
Illamasqua Powder Blush in Hussy
Laura Mercier(LM) Eye Book - Creame Shadow in White Gold (on the bridge of the nose)

Eyes
Benefit Stay don't Stray
LM Eye Book - Plum Smoke (all over the lid)
LM Eye Book - Kir Royal (outer "v" and lower lash line)
LM Eye Book - Pearl (brow bone and inner corner)
Revlon Color Stay Liquid Liner
L'oreal Million Lashes Mascara
Covergirl Lashblast Volume

Brows

Lips
Revlon ColorBurst Lipstick in Coral (dabbed on the lips very lightly)
I have no idea why this is named "Coral". It's a bright orange-red.
MAC Lipglass in Jealous (LE, Fabulous Felines, 2010)

Thanks for stopping by
&
Stay healthy

Swatch : Laura Mercier Eye Book

Laura Mercier Eye Book contains 8 of their eye colors and a mini double-ended brush. This was a gift from a dear friend of mine and I think the colors are amazing. Hope you enjoy the swatches :).
Loving this mini brush! So soft and dense.
1. Pink Crystal is a soft pink with flecks
2. Black Ice is a gun metal color with flecks
3. Violetta is a bright purple with flecks
1,2, and 3 are almost like a luster finish by MAC, but softer and creamier.
4. Kir Royal is a deep eggplant with shimmer (almost like a verluxe pearl finish)
5. Plum Smoke is a matte grayish purple
6. Pearl is neutral champagne. It has a slight sheen to it (like a satin finish)
7. Pale Pink is a dusty pale rose, matte finish.
8. White Gold is pearl-y cream shadow.
9. Deep Night is a deep black navy in matte finish.
