Hair Products I'm Using ATM

1. Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo : I am always in the search of a good volumizing shampoo, because my hair is pretty flat. Not that they're straight (actually pretty curly for an Asian), but because they are very thin. I had high hopes for this shampoo, since it had good reviews, but it turned out to be so-so. The scent is okay and it seems like it does a good job on cleaning the hair. However, it is very harsh. It literally strips my hair! Whenever I use this shampoo I have to use more serum to avoid dry ends. Moreover, it is not volumizing at all. This shampoo is fairly cheap, but I do not see myself repurchasing it. Rating : 2/5

2. Pantene Beautiful Lengths Conditioner : I first saw this conditioner in one of TiffanyD's youtube videos and bought it without thinking, because I totally trust her opinion. After using it for a couple of weeks, I can say that I really like it. This conditioner keeps my hair in a healthy state without making it greasy. The smell is not my favorite, but I like the color- it's blue! Also, I love how it is in a tube- so easy to use in the morning when I'm in a hurry. Rating : 4/5

3. John Frieda Heat Defeat : I use this before I blow dry my hair in order to protect and straighten. However, I don't see a big difference- the scent is nice, but nothing really special. To be honest, I'm only using this, because I'm afraid that my hair will be damaged if I don't use anything. Rating : 3/5

4. John Frieda Daily Nourishment Leave-in Conditioner : This is my second bottle so far. I love this conditioner, because it is super light weight and gives the shine to my hair. I also believe it helps at de-tangling as well. I spray it all over my hair when it's damp and it makes it so much easier to manage. The scent is nice, very light and not overpowering at all. Reasonable price being $5-6. I would recommend it to anyone. Rating 5/5

5. Aveda Elements Smoothing Fluid : This serum works great on my hair. It is excellent at making my hair soft and silky without weighing it down. I don't see it giving shine by any means, but is definitely good for taming frizzes. It has an herbal smell like any other Aveda products. This is a bit pricey, but a little goes a long way. Seriously, I've been using this for a year and haven't finished the bottle yet. Rating : 4/5

  1. I'm also currently using John Frieda Heat Defeat but I'm not sure I like it. It seems to make my hair look and feel dry... that's strange z=

  2. I used the Herbal Essences Body Envy Shampoo as well and I hate it! I totally agree with you and how it strips all the moisture out of your hair. The only thing I liked about it was how it smelled like gummy bears haha! ~Emily
